About E@SY

The E@SY project  aims at promoting energy-aware practices for internal supply operations management, in order to enhance the environmental performances of factories. The main goal consists on analyzing raw-material flows across the factory, from the warehouses to the assembly lines, focusing on energy consumption aspects.

To this purpose, the project proposes to extend this effort by developing tactical/operational decision-aided tools, namely simulation-based and optimization-based tecniques, intending to highlight low energy-costing decisions and, beside to favor energy awareness of decision makers.

On the basis of the mathematical models, another motivation for providing such tools is to demonstrate that JIT and EAM paradigms can cohabit together, putting in synergy financial objectives with environmental ones.

The main objectives of the project  are listed below:

  • O1_ Analysis of an internal feeding systems to identify the energy using variables and parameters and to provide a general model.
  • O2_ Development of advanced aided-decision tools that favor energy aware behaviour and promote low energy cost decisions
  • O3_ Study of the validity range of the decision made based on the developed aidded-decision tools.
  • O4_ Analyze the possibility of extending the results to other links of the supply chain.
